The Genre - Part 1
3 months after my first blog write up, here I am with my next passage in the journey of pursing my photography.
For the new bees to my blog, here is the recap of How it all started?
Getting the desired entry level DSLR was just a start up, The time has just began!
Well there is a great journey to pursue in everything before you decide to think of any destination. To reach that destiny, you need a path to walk, the right route to travel and by god, you might also get a partner to travel with.
Similarly, it was just the beginning of my photography journey and I was just wondering what should i actually choose? What is my route? What is it that i actually want to pursue in photography? Will it just end up as a hobby? or a career? a smart route for making money? many questions looking for the answers but there was none yet to answer those.
I started clicking pictures of people around me, well this would be the initial thing every learning photographer would do as per my knowledge, They tend to shoot people, their portraits, capture smiles, candid poses. Candid, I did not knew about this word until my first shoot either :)
Many photographers who master the art of candid photography in India are none other than our Wedding Photographers. This stream also helps to make a very good amount of money now a days by the way. :)
It was a candid photography shoot at my office when i took my camera for the day out for the first time. Started shooting with the basic tips i have learnt from my friends. Getting the rule of thirds right in P (program) mode.
P mode is nothing but a program mode on any SLR camera which allows the camera to automatically set the exposure for us just like the semi-auto mode to click pictures. I used the same mode for around a month. Just being happy with the light I was getting in the pictures I clicked. I mostly captured my friends in candid poses and they were happy with the photos I have provided.
You cannot click keeping friends and people around you and stop the travelling train there, it's time to also make a further move, to the outside world around you waiting to make the magic. I have started visiting nearby public places for some candid shots. My next venues were Shilparamam, Charminar, Mecca masjid - Hyderabad, A near by village - Ameenpur but the only genre Raghu (myself) was still trying was clicking candid expressions and the portraits of people.
Inner peace was not settling down and frankly speaking i was making the people around me happy by giving them the pictures they wanted but somewhere deep in my heart I was not at all happy. It told me everyday, No Raghu! This is not what you wanted! No, not this for sure!
I am yet to learn, learn, just learn and keep learning the art of photography to mermerise every single audience who witness my work with every great photo i am going to capture. Youtube, the world of videos helped me some more to get the photography knowledge and it still does.
Zubair, my first friend at work, I call him my elder brother, person who always believed in me and my efforts is one among the keen people who supported my photography all time. He was with me for a great amount of time, saw the enthusiasm in me at learning this art and made the greatest favor ever which i cannot forget for this whole life time - Helping me to meet my first master in photography - Abdullah Girach :)
Abdullah Girach, A software professional and a simple Indian family man who is incredibly good at capturing Nature & Landscape photography.
